Cáceres

A little town located on the riverbanks of the Paraguay River

PJS takes you 200Km from Cuiabá to a little town called Cáceres located on the riverbanks of the Paraguay River. From Cáceres we take a 2,5 hour boat trip to our land base in this vast wild land, Bahiazinha Lodge, located in the middle of the jaguar and giant otter action.

The Paraguay river is the major and main river of Pantanal. Surrounded by pristine forests and ever green mountain ranges, this mighty river offers you a remote boat trip to the Jaguar Empire: the Taiamã Ecological Reserve. In addition to being the world's largest fresh water island, the Taiamã Reserve stands as one the best place to watch and photograph Jaguars in South America. The Paraguay River harbors one of the Pantanal's largest nestling colonies of great birds, American Woodstorks, Cocoi Herons and Roseate Spoonbills congregate along the riverside forest, and of course we will spend quality time photographing and observing this huge colony.

This boat Safari features animals such as Giant otters, Southern River Otters, Tapirs, Howler Monkeys, Marmosets, Toucans, Hyacinth Macaws, Caimans, Anacondas, Iguanas, the elusive Jaguar and many water bird species.
