Day 1.

Cuiabá airport > Hotel Baiazinha, Paraguay river

Pickup at Hotel Cuiabá at 730am, to meet your guide and transfer to the Pantanal. After driving about two and a half hours, near the city of Cáceres, we hit a dirt road to the Baiazinha Hotel, located on the riverbanks of the Paraguay river. We arrive around 12pm. Checkin and Lunch. After our lunch break we go out for a boat safari in search for all kind of wildlife along the riverbanks of the Paraguay river. We come back to the lodge around sunset. Dinner and overnight. (L,D)

Days 2&3 Paraguay river, near Taiamã Reserve

Two full days devoted to the boat safaris on the Paraguay River and several of its bays, in order to maximize our chances to watch and photograph Jaguars, Giant Otters and other wildlife. Outings are in the morning and afternoon, cruising the rivers in search of jaguars which often come to the banks in search of food, water, or just to cool off. Dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 4

Hotel Baiazinha > Piuval Lodge

Breakfast and check-out. After driving about 3 hours, we arrive in Poconé. From here we hit the Transpantaneira, a dirt road that transects the Northern Pantanal. We will stop to photograph wildlife on our way. We arrive at the lodge for lunch. Check-in. After a break we go on a forest walk in search of dry-land mammals and birds. At dust, we go on a night safari in search of nocturnal wildlife such as Ocelot, Puma, Giant Anteater, Tamandua, CrabeatingFox, Potoos, and Owls. Dinner and Overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 5,6

Piuval Lodge

2 Full days to explore the many photoopportunities at this place. We will also spend quality time photographing the hundreds of caimans on the small lakes, and the Jabirus in their nest along the lodge’s private road. Our activities are a combination of overland safaris, forest walks and night safaris. We will discover remote areas of this vast ranch, which stands as one of the best place to photograph Tapirs and Anteaters in the Northern Pantanal. After dinner, we will go out for night safari in search of mammals and other nocturnal wildlife such as Great Horned Owl, Nightjar, Pottoos, and many other possibilities. Dinner and overnight. Day 7

Piuval Lodge > Porto Jofre

Early morning safari at sunrise. Breakfast and checkout. Driving further into the Pantanal, as we cover the Transpantaneira to reach Porto Jofre and check in at our lodge, situated on the riverbank of the Cuiabá river. This afternoon we go out for a boat safari on the Cuiabá river in search for jaguars, giant river otters and other wildlife. We come back at sunset. Dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Days 8,9,10

Porto Jofre & Meeting of the Waters State Park

Three full (min 8h) days devoted to boat safari s on the Cuiabá river and its tributaries, in order to maximize our chances to watch and photograph Jaguars, Giant Otters and other wildlife in the Meeting of the Waters State Park. Our outings are in the morning and afternoon, cruising the rivers in search of Jaguars which often come to the banks in search of food, water, or just to cool off. Dinner and overnight Hotel in Porto Jofre. (B,L,D)

Day 11

Porto Jofre > Cuiabá

Breakfast and check-out, followed by overland transfer to Cuiabá where we arrive around 12pm. Lunch in Cuiabá. Drop off at airport or Hotel in Cuiabá (B,L).
